Great food. Been around for as long as i can remember. Go with a chili dog or burger and some fries and you wont be disappointed.

It's sad. This used to be a ma & pa and beloved spot for locals. Unfortunately ownership has changed and it's no longer with original family. I can't push myself to eat here anymore. The quality can't be the same when original owners have been cooking here for decades. I'd understand if new owner was an employee. But no, only employees here were a married couple.
Someone please let me know if another ma & pa spot for great hamburgers, chili, fries, fried chicken, and onion rings. Seriously, all menu items were delicious. So sad that it's now a past tense.
At least the new owners haven't changed much of the aesthetics. If you eat here and like it, then good for you. But if you eat here now and remember the good ole times, then better for you! -

I went to this restaurant and attempted to order various items on the menu. All of the items advertised on the menu were NOT available. First I tried ordering a Jr Cheeseburger combo and it was not available. Then I changed to a Kraut dog combo and they had no kraut; after I ordered and paid I was told this and the lady question why I wouldn't still get the hotdog since they already put it on the grill along with the fries. I explained that the items I wanted to order were not available and that I would just pay for the drink and get a refund on the rest. I didn't want to order a larger burger meal because I was on my way in to work and just needed something to hold me over until my lunch. Instead of refunding the difference, they had me give back the original change from my purchase and then pay for the drink with my $20 again. I could tell she was a little perturbed by the look on her face, and when I inquired about the price of just the drink she told me it was $3 despite showing $1.99 on the menu board. Nevertheless she gave me $18 back and said she would forgo the ($0.20) I'm guessing tax on the drink and I left the establishment. I am in support of Mom & Pop establishments but this was not an experience that I would endure again. I'm more shocked at the comments and experiences others had at this place because I thought I was in for a treat. You can try for yourself but I suggest u watch them prepare someone else's order first or get back on Yelp and skip past this establishment.
Here I am now sitting in the parking lot at work, still hungry I might add but not enough time to risk a sour experience with another establishment. The review the gentleman wrote on the motorcycle was spot on, I believe every word he said. If this is new ownership, they should change the name because they definitely are tarnishing the legacy of this place.
A word of advice to the owners, remove items that you do not have from your menu, get some better employees who not only know what they are doing but also that treat your customers with respect, clean up the place, and for Pete's sake, just do better. You lost this customer but I pray for your business's sake something changes or you will lose many more.
I don't too often write reviews, but I absolutely couldn't even wait to get to my job to write this one, I must admit, I was texting and driving all the way down Devonshire because I was absolutely disgusted with the entire experience. I don't recommend the establishment or texting and driving!
Oh almost forgot, I watched them microwave my hotdog before they put it on the grill! :/ -

So sad the day Dandy Fries Died, how could you mess up these fries but you did, not the same since the new owners. There;s no reason for me to come here again...end of a good thing.

I know many people are giving the new owners and new staff a one star review. However, being a business owner, I can totally respect the growing pains of new ownership. With that being said, let me answer your questions of my experience of coming both when the new owners were there and what it's like now.
Yes - the new food isn't exactly like the old owners, but the old owners have been cooking their food for YEARS. My experience today has lead me to believe that the flavor is still their in the new ownership, but you cannot beat YEARS Of experience in making a burger. The fries were overly salty, but after giving feedback to McKenzie and Anushka they both took it in stride and wanted to make it better.
The place is divey. It's small, some parts look old, and the door makes sounds when you open and close it. If your expecting a high charmed high end place, this is not it. HOWEVER, I do salute how clean their cleaning area and grilling area is. I'd eat food cooked at a public park grill, as long as I knew it was cleaned. And this grill was cleaner then that...
The weekend crew, McKensie and Anushka were both really willing to hear what the community feedback is. Please give it to them. Please support your local business owners.
